Tuesday, November 21 (Netanya, then home...)

Was obsessed with the way the pink-gray rainy light deepened and harmonized the colors, so this is a very small selection of the many, many things I noticed today....

  • Overnight, the strong wind hand blown the wet sand that lined the steps into a  complex landcsape of mounts, caverns and ridges.

  • In the distance, the morning light hit a lone building, lighting it bright salmon. A few seconds later, it was swallowed in the mist.

  • The unexpected delicate beauty of the onion as I peel it. Translucent and glowing peels in shades of pink and gold. Luminous white, with its fragile veins. It seems almost violent to expose it like this.

  • The old man crossing the street carries two bright plastic shopping bags, that glow against the gray asphalt, and harmonize with the warm orange ochre of the Jerusalem stone.

  • The ripening dates glow yellow and orange against the deep green of the palm fronds.

And, because I can't resist, a sixth:
  • the tree peeking out of the puddle, with a yellow leaf fallen beside it.
